About Edgardo Parada
Edgardo Parada is a New York-based Senior Video Producer, filmmaker, and production leader with more than 20 years of experience creating branded, documentary, live-event, narrative, music, and digital content.
He founded Shake Up Productions after studying Film & Television at NYU Tisch School of the Arts and has since built a career that bridges creative storytelling, production leadership, and hands-on filmmaking.
His work has ranged from leading multi-team trade-show productions for Reed Exhibitions to producing and editing documentaries, shooting and editing multi-season branded content, directing narrative film, and producing contemporary long-form digital video.
Born in Manila and raised between Parañaque and New Jersey, Edgardo developed an early awareness of the importance of representation in media. At 16, he joined the NYU Future Filmmakers Workshop before continuing to NYU Tisch, where he earned his BFA in Film & Television and was a University Honors Scholar.
That experience continues to inform his approach to filmmaking: strong production should serve the story, and strong stories should connect people.
Alongside his production career, Edgardo has taught filmmaking, editing, post-production, audio, and camera fundamentals through BRIC, Downtown Community Television Center, NYU Future Filmmakers Workshop, and New York Film Academy.
He is also a songwriter, musician, and producer with Sunset Afire, reflecting a creative practice that extends beyond film into original music and audio production.
